Like many couples this spring and now into summer, Michael and Jodi had an original plan to have a larger destination wedding at the beach and then a honeymoon cruise vacation afterwards, but they had to come up with a plan B for both.  So they decided to get married a little closer to home with their two teens, immediate family, and just two close friends by their side on June 7th.  They chose the beautiful estate, Chateau Vie in Walnut Cove, NC for their celebration and ended up renting a mountaintop cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN for their honeymoon.

Michael and Jodi decided to keep their beach theme going by wearing what they would've at their beachside wedding. And cheerful colors of hot pink, turquoise, purple, & white tropical flowers and seashells in Jodi's bouquet and the swag which decorated the ceremony arbor. They also did a sand ceremony, which was a nice added touch. Michael's son was his best man and Jodi's daughter, her maid of honor. Their children also participated in the sand ceremony with their parents, symbolizing their commitment and the blending of two families. Although their vows were not exchanged on the beach, they still had their ceremony waterside by the beautiful lake, under the shade of the big trees.  

The reception was held immediately after underneath the open-air covered pavilion. Michael, Jodi, and their guests enjoyed a catered meal followed by a delicous wedding cake, which Michael and Jodi cut together and fed to one another. Although it was not their original plan, their families, friends, the venue owners, and vendors made it so special for them.  They were just happy to be getting married and they plan to have a larger celebration at a later date, and hopefully at the beach, like many other couples are doing.  Congratulations to these two and many best wishes!
